Sub-Regional Survey and Research Seminar-Workshop on the Status of Education Financing for Lifelong Education in SEA Countries

Each and every Filipino has the right to access education opportunities through lifelong learning programs.

Thus, the government in cooperation with UNESCO National Commission has declared the establishment of the UNESCO Center for Lifelong Learning for Sustainable Development (CLLSD) in the Philippines. To reach out to more communities nationwide, the Center has committed to train members of six teacher training universities in the Visayas in the Pagsasarili curriculum.

The UNESCO National Education Support Strategy (UNESS) for the Philippines is focused on assisting the country to create a more dynamic, efficient and effective education sector with the capability to address poverty. UNESS Philippines includes intervention areas in basic education, higher education and non-formal, specifically on expanding the coverage of cost-effective Adult Literacy Programs. These are key programs that are crucial in achieving the EFA 2015 goals.
