World Heritage Sites in the Philippines

 
 

As a State Party to the World Heritage Convention, the NatCom Culture Committee gives priority to the conservation of Philippine World Heritage Sites. Among its activities are preparation of nomination dossiers for the Tubbataha Reef Marine Park Expansion Area, Batanes Cultural Landscapes and Mount Apo Natural Park. Advocacy and awareness-raising activities are likewise held, particularly in the case of the Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras, a World Heritage Site in Danger.

Philippine Intangible  Cultural Heritage Committee (PICH)

 
 

Having ratified the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, NatCom tasked the Culture Committee as the national focal point which shall pursue the mandates of this Convention. As such, PICH continues to consult stakeholders in its development of a National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Theater Production on Tatlong Kuwento ni Lola Basyang
 
 
The ballet production is co-sponsored with Ballet Manila which aims to reintroduce the masterpieces of Philippine literature to the young generation of Filipinos. It highlights the relevance and adaptability of classical dance to traditional Philippine material. It also seeks to make available alternative, affordable and significant all-Filipino entertainment.

Establishing a Center for Women and Children for the Promotion of Peace through Interfaith Dialogue and Education

 
 

A Participation Programme-supported project, NatCom partnered with the Ateneo de Zamboanga University in establishing a venue for dialogue and exchange of ideas among women in conflict areas; and the establishment of a national focal point and venue for the development of materials and a pilot program school system on children’s interfaith education, under both formal and non-formal settings, that can serve as a model at the regional and international levels.more

This is a Whistle-stop Theater Forum conducted by ARTIST Inc. for the transport group in Makiling and Banahaw, Laguna area. It serves as a take-off for discussion on climate change among transport groups.
