ILOHAN is an Indigenous presser usually made from heavy ha"d wood. ft flattens and softens the dried leaves of pandan plants ready for weaving into mats, baskets, bags, hats and other designs. Like a heavy but functional equipmerL our local culture in Laguna has heavy appendages drawn from traditional practices long tcsted as
effective and efficient in mitigating impacts from disasters caused by development and/or natural hazards. Within this perspective, the present project concept pro])oscs '0 tap this heritage of knowledge and skills, and integrate these with present ,'py:'('uehes in addressing impacts from climate changes and strengthening the capability of the province to adapt.

San Agustin Music Fest
 
   
The project was conceived in 1997-1998 after the completion of the restoration of the pipe organ of San Agustin Church by Diego Cera Organ Builders and the Organeria Torquemada of Spain. The project is definitely of great importance because this Pipe Organ of San Agustin Church is considered as a national cultural landmark, since it was built in the Philippines by Filipino artisans using indigenous materials.more

With the immense popularity of animated films and cartoons amongst the young generation, even adults, animation is an effective tool for raising awareness on our cultural diversity on a massive level. There is a dearth however of Philippine culture-centered animation. Hollywood productions such as Spiderman, Transformers and Iron Man dominate our movie houses while Powerpuff Girls, Pokemon, Samurai X and Yu- Gi-Oh take over the boob tube.more

Sayaw sa Alon (Dancing on Waves) is a dance-documentary about the vanishing culture of the Bajau or Sam a Dilaut, the indigenous group also known as sea gypsies of Southern Philippines. Threatened by war, western acculturation, globalization and environmental degradation, they have beCl.xne refugees or migrants in other parts of the country and in Sabah, Malaysia.
