De Rivera attends Sixth Session of the Intergovernmental Council for IFAP |

Comm. Timoteo Diaz- De Rivera, Chairperson of the IFAP Philippine National Committee attended the Sixth Meeting of UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Council for IFAP held from 29 and 30 March 2010 at the UNESCO HQ in Paris, France. The meeting gathered all 26 Member-States elected to the Council during the 35th Session of the UNESCO General Conference in 2009.
Presided by ADG for CI Abdul Waheed Khan, the session started with the election of the Bureau. The Philippines was elected as one of the Vice-Chairpersons alongside Kuwait and Austria. Russia was elected as the new Chairperson and Cote D'Ivoire as Rapporteur.
Among the important issues discussed during the meeting were the Draft Code of Information Ethics, strengthening of IFAP National Committees and the world digital library global initiative. |
