AIJC holds communication and leadership course for LG leaders

|
QUEZON CITY—Bulacan local government leaders attended a Communication and Leadership course at the Commission on Information and Communication Technology (CICT) on May 28 and 29, 2010.
The training was based on a module prepared by the Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication (AIJC) supported by UNESCO Philippine National Commission. It covered transformational leadership, effective communication and the use of ICT in governance. The speakers were Dr. Madeline B. Quiamco, Dean of the AIJC Graduate School, Ms. Grace Amberong, Group Head of the Consulting and Services Division of CICT, and Mr. Narciso “Archie” Inlong, AIJC Consultant and Chair of WordCom International.
In addition, there were featured presentations from Mr. Harvey Keh of the Ateneo de Manila School of Government on Servant Leadership in Government, and CICT Commissioner Angelo Timoteo Diaz de Rivera on ICT in Good Governance.
Dr. Florangel Rosario-Braid, Chair of the Communication Committee of the UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines, stated in the Opening Remarks that the course is timely with the country transitioning into a new administration. She emphasized the role of local government in transformative leadership. |
